A very well-written tribute and I agree with you wholeheartedly…l love that you use the actual lyrics with attribution to its authors to illustrate your points…back in the 60s, as a teenager, I was totally enamored by The Beach Boys oeuvre and could not wait for each new hit on AM radio and album release…I finally got to see them live in 1975, late but better late than never…and to this day, I still dislike/hate The Beatles since through no fault of their own everyone got on board and The Beach Boys were supplanted and overcome by Beatlemania which absolutely was a very wrenching experience for my teenager self… your description of how he manipulated the sonic space was very apt and in some ways, resembles how Phil Specter was able to do, as well
Thanking you for seeing and highlighting Brian Wilson’s genius!!!
I'm all in for Beach Boys. Positivity.
RIP, Brian Wilson.
Thank you. A beautiful tribute.
